I just want to add a little note to all my friends and family...especially in Hawaii...please be prepared. I don't know if you know that hurricane season for Hawaii is June 1st through November 30th!! That is a long time and there hasn't been one for 10 years. In some articles they predict that it is coming and is long overdue!!! SO PLEASE BE READY!!!! One of my biggest fears is natural disasters, because you can't do anything to stop them and you don't know exactly when they are coming. With some you do get a short warning, but by then it might be too late. In Laie there is only one grocery store and I know at the first sign of anything happening it would be empty! Think of the people in Texas and in New Orleans...some people are still without power and water and homes. Do you have your 72 hour kit?? What about a little food storage?? Are you registered at BYUH if you had to evacuate to the school?? Or if you live on the mainland...do you know where to go if you need help?? Do you have gasoline? Toiletpaper?? WATER? Food? etc. My mom is sending me a copy of how to get your one year food supply for just $5 a week for 2 people. If any of you want a copy please post your email and I will send it to you...I have most peoples emails already so if you think I do just let me know you want it. And PLEASE PLEASE PREPARE!!!!

Hey Brooke! I came across your blog today and saw your post and though: How appropriate! It is so true that you need to be prepared! We are so lucky that we had stuff ready because the church had told us to when Hurricane Ike hit us a couple weeks ago. People here were going crazy trying to get supplies, but there was not enough for everybody and that is a scary thing. Luckily we ended up okay, but I know A LOT of people that have not had power for two weeks now, and it is very difficult for them. Make sure if you have a car to get a FULL tank of gasoline and don't waste the gas once you get it!! After a storm that is big you cannot get gasoline for a LONG time!!! Thanks again for posting this Brooke!!!
Hey thanks for the reminder. I think everyone means to get stuff to be prepared but never actually do anything. But I really want to now so thanks for the motivation!
What a great reminder because it is very true you just never know when something could happen. I would love a copy of that list, my email is tiannelamb14@yahoo.com
Happy Birthday Brooke! Sorry I'm a little late. I hope you had a great day!
