Decisions...Decisions

WE are having a really hard time right now deciding what to do. Let me explain...We are pre-approved for a loan for a house and have found a couple places that we like. We even have an offer that has been accepted at one. Meanwhile, Adam still looking for other places found a Salon for sale right by where we live right now. Seriously, across the street and down a few feet. It is a great deal. It just needs a bigger clientele.

So we need to choose what we want to do with our money right now.

The salon is very much in our budget, to buy. But if we don't get more clientele coming in fast then we won't make rent (like the owner right now). With Adams accounting skills and me being a hair stylist...we think we could make it work. It has always been a dream of mine to own a salon, I was just putting it off until our kids were in school. Adams dream has also been to own a business and has wanted to help me with a salon. It is in a great location, on two busy streets and freeway exit and entrance. If we could get it back up and running (like it used to), we would have an entire extra income. We love Bountiful and friends have already offered to help with the girls. But what if we can't get the clientele we need and what if I end up having to be there so much that I miss out on my girls...I really only want to work from 9-12 with an hour break to take lunch with the girls and back to work while they take there naps and then home after that. Will it be too stressful or with mine and Adams skills put together would we make a great team and create an amazing business??

One of the houses we are looking at is in Layton. It has 3 bedrooms and a huge fenced in back yard. Adam called the Bishop of the ward we will be in and it seems like it would fit us well. A mix of every age. A huge park just around the corner with a playground, a walking path, a duck pond, and huge play area. I have great ideas for decorating it and making it our own. I could really see us staying there for a while and even adding on to it to make it bigger and nicer. The other one is a condo in Bountiful just up the street a little ways from where we are right now. In Bountiful that is really all we can afford, is a condo. It is also a 3 bedroom. It is remodeled and really nice on the inside. It doesn't have a very big yard...but the location is great. It would be easy to rent out after we moved to a bigger place (when we had the budget in a few years). The government is also offering an $8,000 housing tax credit when you buy your first home. So come next year when we get our taxes...just add $8,000!!!! How could we miss out on that if we can afford it. But we aren't even 30 yet and we would have a 30 year mortgage already. If we chose the Layton house we would be leaving our friends that we have here and have to start over again. We do also have to take in account hope repairs and other expenses that are unknown.

What do WE do??? What would be best for us and our family right now?? WE have been praying every day about it and I still feel 50/50! I have great ideas for a new house and great ideas for owning a salon and getting it back in business. I am constantly thinking of both and not ever leaning either way more than the other. We even considered buying the condo in Bountiful and the Salon...but the risk just seems too high! So we have to choose. What do you think?? Please help!

Don't want to forget this...

Today with Brielle...she went p.p. in the potty-HURRAY-but while she still had her swimsuit on!! Getting dressed after her bath (after she p.p.d.) she shook her booty and said "Cute!" Then tonight I put her in her bed and when we just checked on her she was asleep in our bed. Sneaky little booger! I love her!

PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!!

If I didn't share this new information I would be doing an injustice to all my friends that I care so much about. So I would like to share this new book I have found with the help of friends (Rob and Jana Potts) that don't even have kids yet. When at BYU Idaho as part of there Building and Eternal Marriage class ...and they taught the basic rules from this amazing book.

If you are having any trouble at all with your children from 18 months to 18 years old you want to read this book. Once you get it and start reading it please let me know and lets have a discussion on how it works for you. I haven't even finished reading it and already it has made a huge difference in Brielle and I.

As Sisters In Zion

As sisters in Zion, we’ll all work together;
The blessings of God on our labors we’ll seek.
We’ll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We’ll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.

The errand of angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim:
To do whatsoever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity’s name.

How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit’s divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.

Our Friends...

I stole these pics from Lindsey's blog cause she takes all the pictures! And she just figured out how to use her photo shop so she made some really cute collages!!! Thanks lindsey for doing so many fun things with us!!! Teja is about a month and a half older than Grace and anytime she sees her she scoots over to her and ATTACKS!! It is super cute but poor Grace gets tortured and she just takes it with a smile-usually-except when her face gets ripped off!! Tej has quite the grip and claws!! But they love each other.

Desperate "4 Dinner" Housewives

So I think one of the best ideas I have had was to start a dinner group. A friend in St. George (Jen) had told me of a dinner group that they had been doing and it sounded like something I really wanted to do. So...I asked a few friends (Lindsey, Elisa, and Jenny) if they would be interested in doing it as well. It has been the best thing for us. We have saved money and time. I cook once a week and three other days I get meals delivered to me. I want to reccomend this to all my friends out there. Unless you are extremely picky about what you eat...this is amazing.

What do you do???
-Well I named us Desperate "4 Dinner" Housewives (4families & 4meals & 4nights)
- Get 4 families that are roughly the same size as yours (that is including yours)
-Pick one night of the week for your turn to cook the meals (mon-thurs)
-Double your recipe (we make enough for 4 servings usualy)
-Deliver your meal ready to bake or hot
-Enjoy 3 nights off from cooking

Please try this!!!! and let me know if you are and I will send you more info about it!!!

Our little 10 YEAR Reunion!!

Since we couldn't make it to our "real" high shcool reunion...a few of us were able to meet up at Jenny's and Jeff's house and have a little BBQ and catch up. It was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast in Jenny's HUGE beautiful backyard. I thought Brielle would sleep so good since she played all night...but of course shew woke up at 6:35 AM!! Half hour earlier than usual! GRRR. But we did have fun with the friends. WE were missing a few of us but maybe this fall we will all be able to get together again.

Free lunch and the swings!

Washington Elementary had free lunches all summer long and we just found out about it two weeks before it was over...but we went and enjoyed every morsel they gave us. We also went to the park by the school one day and the girls (EMMA and BRIELLE) had to swing together.
